Glee Tour

Matthew Morrison Records Duet with Elton John

After months of speculation followed by a confirmation from Elton John himself, Matthew Morrison, better known to “Glee” fans as Will Schuester, finally recorded a duet with the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer that is set to come out in the actor’s debut album, which is slated to hit shelves before the month ends.

The song was recorded on Monday and Morrison gushed about the collaboration in his interview with Parade magazine, “I just did it! It’s a duet. It’s great, really fantastic. He sings great on it…It’s a medley of Mona Lisas and Madhatters going into Rocket Man.”

When asked by showbiz gossip website Just Jared on what can fans expect from his first solo studio effort, he said that the album’s initial direction was strongly influenced by his work in the Fox hit TV series, until he decided that the album should be about him and not about what people love about the show, where he plays a vital and prominent role as glee club coach.

“I was kind of trying to gear it towards the Glee audience, to make a very pop-y kind of vibrant record that a lot of younger people were gonna be into…But then I started writing those kind of songs and they just didn’t resonate with me. I don’t want to make a Glee album. I want to do something that’s really personal to me.”
