Come on Gleeks, you weren’t thinking the New Directions kids would leave you high and dry for the holidays I hope. Just in time for the holidays the “Glee” masterminds are preparing a Christmas album that will coincide with the December 7 episode of the show. “Glee: The Music- the Christmas Album” is being released on November 16 to stores. It will include “Glee” renditions of such classic as “Last Christmas,” “Jingle Bells” and “O Holy Night.”
According to a recent press release to announce the set, in addition to Glee kids performing Christmas classic tunes, the set list also will include K.D. Lang making a guest appearance. The Grammy award winning singer will be adding her vocals on “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” the Dr. Seuss-inspired song.
Although a specific breakdown of songs and “Glee” performers was not released by Columbia Records, the track listing of the album of 12 Christmas songs was reported by EW.com. Here is the listing according to their website:
1. “We Need a Little Christmas” (performed by Jenna Ushkowitz, Chris Colfer, Amber Riley,)
2. “Deck the Rooftop” (performed by Cory Monteith, Lea Michele, Naya Rivera, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale and Heather Morris, )
3. “Merry Christmas Darling” (performed by Lea Michele in a solo performance)
4. “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” (performed by Darren Criss and Chris Colfer)
5. “The Most Wonderful Day of the Year” (performed by Chord Overstreet, Kevin McHale, Mark Salling, Lea Michele, Jenna Ushkowitz, Heather Morris and Chris Colfer)

A full-fledged Christmas album this year is quite an upgrade from Glee’s offering last year, when they only released one measly holiday single, the “Last Christmas,” by Wham!, a download that never was performed on the show.
