Glee Heads to White House for Easter Egg Roll

Posted by Janice Bryant On February - 23 - 2010

Entertainment Weekly has reported that the cast of Glee, the popular TV show on Fox, have been invited to the White House to perform at the annual easter egg hunt held there.

E! Online published cast member tweets from Amber Riley, Naya Rivera and Kevin McHale who also said they had been invited by first lady Michelle Obama to the Washington, D.C. holiday event to be held on April 5.

Reportedly, the first family, especially daughters Sasha and Malia, are big fans of Glee. The show is on a break of four months currently. Last month the show won four awards at the Golden Globes ceremony. Glee will be returning to television in April.

First Lady Obama has kept busy with exposing children to music inside the White House. School children this month were invited to the White House for two musical events. One was a musical program that served to inspire the civil rights movement. The other was a preview performance given by Harry Connick Jr. along with other musician at Sunday night’s Governors’ Ball. An array of country music singers last year performed for school children at the White House.

New Teaser Trailer for Glee is Out

Am I wrong for getting practically misty eyed while watching the teaser for “Glee’s” return? Personally, I don’t think I am. It’s been months, after all, since there’s been a new episode aired for the Fox series. I desperately need to hear some choral music along with bitchy one liners from Sue Sylvester.

Glee won’t return until April 13, so there’s still several weeks to go, however the new teaser gives us a few music morsels at least. It appears the Cheerios will be singing “Express Yourself” in the overly hyped episode with Madonna. It also seems that Rachel’s infatuation of Finn is growing. However, we do see a short glimpse of another potential boy toy for Rachel, Jonathan Groff from “Spring Awakening.” The “Hello Goodbye” Beatles group cover sounds terrific. Then there’s the fantastic sight gag with Sue rocking the cone bra, bringing back memories of Madonna’s iconic look. I just can’t wait for the return of “Glee!” Meanwhile, you can watch the teaser over and over again.
